What Children Say

I've just read an article listing the creepiest things reddit users have claimed their kids have said. http://ift.tt/24ACwTh

This leads me to ask if anyone has done any research into why kids make such statements - some of which really are creepy, especially claims about kids referencing dead siblings they otherwise didn't know (assuming the truth of the reporting).

Is it just adults ascribing meaning to things kids say? Is it kids repeating, in likewise fashion, things they've heard and picked up without knowing what they really mean?

Do they see dead people? :boxedin::D

New version of the Snooper's Charter released today, which is the old one with the egg wiped off its face.

How absolutely appropriate this should be happening in Orwell's own England.

Mosul dam in danger of collapse.

Is this old news? Doubtful construction and lack of maintenance apparently threatens 1M lives.

bin Laden was a ******* crazy conspiracy theorist

“My dear wife,” he began. “I was told that you went to a dentist in Iran, and you were concerned about a filling she put in for you. Please let me know in detail … any suspicions that any of the brothers may have about chips planted in any way.”

Jesus *********** Christ.

Terrorists are so full of conspiracy theories they make Alex Jones look like Dan Rather. Recently an ISIS groupie was caught before he shot up a Freemason's hall. Most jihadists are convinced that there is a US-Jewish plot to destroy Islam. bin Laden read Noam Chomsky. The list goes on and on. So think about that the next time you spend some "quality time" trying to debunk a conspiracy theorist on the internet. They probably aren't going to shoot up a freemason's hall. But there are people who will. So if you really want to be a debunker, maybe we should be targeting the followers of the world's greatest evil at the moment.

How does my province borrow money?

I mean. When I hear our province runs a deficit (my province is Nova Scotia) of say 240 million (which was about what it was last year), where does that money come from? Do they go to the bank? Like any bank, wait in line and have someone (maybe the Premier himself) apply for a loan? Or do they have some massive credit line they use? Or a bunch of credit lines?

How does it work?

House Speaker Paul Ryan: No Room for 'Bigotry' in GOP

Unless you are gay, of course, but that just goes without saying.

Gotta add this part:

Is Trump Greg Stillson?

Other than the fact that Stillson has some political experience, I keep being struck by the similarities of Donald Trump and Greg Stillson.

Greg Stillson was a big bloke, and Trump is 6' 2" and fairly solid with it.

I seem to recall Stillson having corn-coloured hair.

Stillson was appealing the the anti-government breeds in society, exactly as Trump does. Despite campaigning for a house in Washington, Trump and his supporters are anti-Washington.

While Trump is a Republican, he is more or less creating a de facto third party, with Republican establishment turning their backs on him, including tentative plans to dissociate the senate from him if he gets elected.

Trump wants to nuke the Middle East, while Stillson's attraction to nukes is apparent.

Stillson's security detail was over-zealous, as Trump's has been.

Stillson was a friend to bikies and scum. David Duke openly endorses Trump and if bikie gangs vote in 2016, I'm going to guess where they're voting.

Trump only avoids construction helmets because he gets hat hair.

Stillson was the sort of guy who kicks dogs to death for fun. Trump is the sort of guy who pokes fun at disabled people.
