How NOT to teach women about football

Texas A&M recently had a "Football Chalk Talk" for women, to teach them some of the finer points of the game to help them appreciate it more. Unfortunately, it probably didn't teach them what they hoped would be learned.

Not surprisingly, it didn't go over so well with all of the women in the audience. Now the ass. coaches (abbrev intentional) have been "suspended" (2 weeks, before practice has even begun).

Of course, their defense is the same one that losers everywhere use "It was just a joke." Sorry, no. Jokes are supposed to be funny. This isn't funny, it's just dumb. That they thought it would be funny is an indication of how clueless they are.

Finally. Wikileaks: Obama and Clinton Armed ISIS

It's breaking all over the internet, so choose your source.

The emails Hillary deleted are being released by WikiLeaks, and it includes proof regarding the US arming ISIS in Syria.

The urgency of changing the narrative to Russia being the source is clear. But it is extremely dangerous. In order to shift attention away from the content of the emails, start screeching about Russia spying on us.

This isn't a revelation, really. The US funding of rebels in Syria is well known. But the emails go back to 2011, when the US was shipping arms looted from Libya through Benghazi to the rebels in Syria. Clinton testified under oath she didn't know anything about it.

This was a bipartisan project. John McCain met with the same people, there are pictures available on the internet. That's why all the kerfuffle over Benghazi had to avoid what they were actually doing there. The rebel groups probably didn't like the fact we were taking the arms and shipping them to Syria instead of the Libyan rebels getting them. It is a straightforward motive for the attack, which on the surface appears to conflict with the fact we were the rebel's air force in overthrowing Qadaffi.

Obviously, Obama has an enormous self-interest in Hillary being elected so the disastrous middle east machinations stay under wraps.

Seattle Comissions Minimum Wage Study

The Washington Post reports:

Yet the actual benefits to workers might have been minimal, according to a group of economists whom the city commissioned to study the minimum wage and who presented their initial findings last week.

The average hourly wage for workers affected by the increase jumped from $9.96 to $11.14, but wages likely would have increased some anyway due to Seattle's overall economy. Meanwhile, although workers were earning more, fewer of them had a job than would have without an increase. Those who did work had fewer hours than they would have without the wage hike.

Accounting for these factors, the average increase in total earnings due to the minimum wage was small, the researchers concluded. Using their preferred method, they calculated that workers' earnings increased by $5.54 a week on average because of the minimum wage. Using other methods, the researchers found that the minimum wage hike actually caused total weekly earnings to drop -- by as much as $5.22 a week.

Overall, it seems to be a mixed bag, with plenty of study conclusions to choose from depending on your preconceptions.

Yeah, watched one of those Top15s vids again. I personally think this is done with a movie editor, but could be wrong.

Story goes like this. Someone heard a terrifying scream and when this guy turned on his flashlight, a bunch of arms and hands go through his celling and floor. Then his flashlight goes out and after a while (probably long enough to put on that costume), he turns it on again and this thing covered in hands stands there and roars in the camera (I admit that I got spooked from that reaction).

I personally call him Handy Man. :thumbsup:

Laptop stopped acknowledging charger, now it has died and can't be turned back on?!

Once again, I come to the reliable nerds here, a supplicant, seeking your wisdom. I have a Dell Elitebook running Windows 7 Professional, refurbished, haven't had it that long.

The other day I had it plugged in and was listening to music like usual while doing some other stuff around the apartment. After a few hours of no trouble, I noticed that the "charging" icon wasn't lit up anymore - the laptop had stopped acknowledging the charger at some point. I couldn't find any kinks or anything in the power chord. Finally, I tried two other chords, but to no avail. No acknowledgement. So then the battery died not long after, and now I can't turn it on!

What could have happened? Can it be fixed? And if not, can some files I had on it that I hadn't gotten around to backing up on my external hard drive be recovered from it? I have very little tech knowledge at all, and I certainly don't have any complicated equipment. I don't mind if I have to get a new computer, it's just that I've been having a lot of trouble finding ones that don't run Windows 10 these days, and also I really want the music files off this one. Can anyone help?
