Oregon's New Anti-gun Bill

A gun registration bill was introduced in Oregon.
https://olis.leg.state.or.us/liz/201...501/Introduced

It has typical bkgd check stuff like we recently got in WA. It also defines hi-cap mags as greater than 5 rounds.

Then it has a 20 round per month purchase limitation. This is completely stupid.

Quote:

SECTION 7.
(1) Notwithstanding the fact that ORS 166.412, 166.435 and
166.438 require a gun dealer or other person transferring a firearm to request
a criminal background check only when transferring a firearm, a gun dealer or other person transferring ammunition shall comply with the requirements of ORS 166.412, 166.435 and 166.438 before transferring any ammunition to another person.
(2) A person may not receive more than 20 rounds of ammunition in any 30-day time period.
(3)(a) Any person transferring ammunition shall maintain a record of all ammunition transferred by the person to ensure that a person does not receive more than 20 rounds of ammunition in any 30-day time period.
(b) The Department of State Police is not required to maintain a record of ammunition transfers under this section to ensure compliance with subsection (2) of this section.
(4) This section does not apply to ammunition purchased and used at
a target shooting range.
I could not find a definition of ammunition in the Oregon code, so I'm not sure how this affect people who load their own ammunition. I suppose gun stores next to the state line will be doing brisk business if this bill passes.

Cremation Alternatives

I was watching Youtube and found this; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWo2-LHwGMM

It's about alternatives to cremation and embalming/burial. Some of the main points Caitlyn Doughty makes is that embalming is hazardous to the environment and cremation using heat is also environmentally unfriendly.

She went into length about alkaline hydrolysis; a means of rapidly decomposing a corpse into bone fragments which are then ground into smaller pieces prior to returning to the next of kin.

It seems only a few states allow alkaline hydrolysis for human remains. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alkali...(body_disposal)

It is claimed that the practice was prohibited in one state after the catholic church said "you can't do that because of my religion".

The process also has raised religious concerns. Alkaline hydrolysis was allowed in New Hampshire for a few years, but the state banned it in 2008 amid opposition from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Manchester, which argued it "is undignified and disrespectful at the most basic level."

Sam Parnia new update

Hi

Here is a update of Sam Parnia:

https://youtu.be/MuR_a98Vi2Q

It starts at 35 minutes.

Red Flags so far:

- John Templenton is founding it.
- Parnia believes that everyone has NDEs but they do not remember them. Here I am skeptical and that a lot. Or even when people have these experiences they can be like dreams and nothing else.

Skeptic points:

- He is not very specific that means he has no hits or anything big because he would mention it already.
- He says that death is a process and it takes long for the cells to die. So you are NOT dead when you are resuscitated which we already knew in the past.

If someone else found something interesting let me know.

Talking to Minorities while White Liberal

White Liberals Present Themselves as Less Competent in Interactions with African-Americans

Being masculine is now officially evil

Well there we have it.

Apparently I am a homophobic, bullying sexual harrasser, and I didn't even know.

https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-...sogyny-n956416

"....Traditional masculinity ideology has been shown to limit males’ psychological development, constrain their behavior, result in gender role strain and gender role conflict and negatively influence mental health and physical health,” the report warns.

The new “Guidelines for the Psychological Practice with Boys and Men” defines “masculinity ideology” as “a particular constellation of standards that have held sway over large segments of the population, including: anti-femininity, achievement, eschewal of the appearance of weakness, and adventure, risk, and violence.” The report also links this ideology to homophobia, bullying and sexual harassment....."

The Gwembe Ghost

News from Zambia. The Government there has "declared war" on a female ghost that is "terrorizing" hospital staff and patients at a hospital. The link has an alleged photo of said ghost.

To combat the problem they are sending 22 pastors to fight the ghost.

Personally I think a van full of teenagers and a Great Dane would probably get better results for less money.
