Pre-TAM Dare-Devils: How About Some Insane Rides Before Dealing with Rationality?

For the past few years, I have been organizing trips to various attractions that involve Not Fearing Heights: Tandem Skydiving (from an actual airplane), Indoor Skydiving (in a vertical wind tunnel), and the Stratosphere's SkyJump.

This year, I would like to continue the tradition. I could relive any of the above options. Though, I would prefer something new. Unfortunately, the best options are not quite ready, yet.

Zip Lines

The Voodoo ZipLine, on top of the Rio hotel (the same place Penn & Teller perform), is not quite open to the public, yet. But, if it is ready in time for TAM, this would be my first choice of stunts to go on. The price is expected to be between $25 to $37 a person, depending on the time of day.

The Freemont Street area is also in the midst of opening the Slotzilla Zip Line and Zoom Line (whatever that is). I think the first one is already open. Not sure about the status of the later. It looks tamer than the Voodoo version. But, if Voodoo is not open, this would make a viable substitute. The prices are listed as: $20 for the zip line; $30 for the zoom line; or $40 for both.

The Bootleg Canyon Zip Line looks the best one. But, it is also the most expensive at $160 a person. It might also take longer to do, so it would interfere with other activities. (If we do this on Thursday, we might miss more workshops with this option, than the others.)

And, I just did the San Diego Safari Park Zip Line in the summer. So, I'm good for the long-form of the sport, for now.

Insanity: The Ride

Swings you over the top of the Stratosphere tower! We almost did this last year, after the SkyJump, but it was closed due to high winds. If the ride is open when we want it, perhaps we can do it this year!! And, while we are up there, we can also go on some of the other rides, but I already tried all of those others, myself. Prices: $18 Tower Admission required before ride tickets. Each ride (including Insanity) is $15 in addition to that. So Insanity, alone, will cost $33 total.

Roller Coasters

There are still a couple of these around the Las Vegas area. But, I might have done all of them already. If most of you prefer, you can pick one or two you like, and we'll roll around on those, instead. (I think the NYC one might have been refurbished since I last did it.)

So, who is up for any of these things?!
