I've created this thread as a summary of some of the specific logical issues with both the MIHOP and LIHOP variants of 9/11 "Truth", from my point of view, at least.
MIHOP:
I'll just let Mike Sawyer's words on what many if not most 9/11 Truthers actually believe speak for themselves.

LIHOP:
To believe that the Bush administration/the US government "let it (9/11) happen on purpose", you'd have to ignore the very real legal and bureaucratic obstacles to information sharing for the CIA, FBI, NSA, and scores of other relevant agencies prior to 9/11. You'd also have to believe that anyone in particular within the US government had anywhere near that level of information on al-Qaeda's real-time operations around the world prior to 9/11, as would be required for a "LIHOP" conspiracy to work. Hell, only about six or seven members of Al-Qaeda itself were privy to the full details!
You'd also have to believe that the many career civil servants and others within these agencies would put aside the thousands of personal agendas, bureaucratic turf wars, and competition for resources and funding from the federal government, all for the "common good" of knowingly turning a blind eye to the malicious activities of an organization whose leaders are sworn enemies of the United States, and who had killed Americans previously (1998 embassy bombings, 2000 Cole attack). And once again, there's the problem of whistle-blowers. Where are they?
So yeah..."LIHOP" is just as bad as "MIHOP."

Quote:
Within eight months of taking office, President Bush planned and executed the largest terrorist attack on U.S. soil with the full cooperation (and unbroken silence) of the U.S. military, intelligence community, and airline industry. Eight months. |
