Boeing investigating foot-long noose found in South Carolina plant

I'm not sure what's going on here, but I'm immediately skeptical about it.

Boeing said it has launched an investigation after a foot-long noose was found hanging inside its South Carolina plant. The noose, made out of nylon, was discovered dangling at the site Thursday in North Charleston where Boeing builds its 787 jetliners, the Post and Courier reported. Brad Zaback, vice president and general manager of the 787 program, said in a statement to employees that he was “saddened and angered that a racially-charged symbol was discovered on site.” “Diversity and inclusion are core to Boeing’s enduring values, and there is absolutely no place for racism and these cowardly acts in society and especially in our company,” the statement read. “We all have the responsibility to live according to our values and Boeing Behaviors in ways that are inclusive for all, and this type of behavior will not be tolerated.”
