So, this week's Science Friday featured an interview with this fellow, Amir Aczel, who I had not heard before. He's evidently written a book with the above title.
From the interview, it's apparent that his major point is that he's annoyed at "certain" atheists who claim that science has disproved God.
Although he didn't mention any names, it's apparent he's talking about the current group of the "new" atheists.
I don't recall any of these guys saying specifically that science has disproved God, but then I don't hang on their every word and they certainly might have.
But this fellow's reasoning seemed to be extremely fuzzy. Ira Flatow kept trying to pin him down on his own beliefs, and he would mostly waffle... "I believe there's some kind of power...." That sort of thing. He seems to take the common line that the universe is just too complex and organized to have "just happened".
At the same time, he freely admits that he doesn't buy any of the contemporary major-religious views of God....
And he maintains that Einstein was a believer, even though that's been discussed many times.
Ira pointed out that it's not really the job of science to try to "prove a negative", that the burden of proof is on the party making the positive claim.
Overall, I was not particularly impressed. I don't know if Dawkins et al have stated positively that "science has disproved God"..... Certainly don't recall that from The God Delusion.
