garmin bluetooth with s4

I've stolen my husbands excellent garmin nuvi 2797, and am really impressed with the bluetooth. it is happy to pair up with my iPhone 5 work phone but won't pair with my samsung s4 , which is a version 4.4.2



my phone can find it, but it's apparently unable to find my phone.....
