Hearing ads for "Bohemian Rhapsody" and snickering at the PG-13 rating, but then Freddie Mercury was much more than his extravagant sex life and toward the end he was happily partnered, growing tulips and, eventually, dealing with AIDS he kept secret almost to the day he died.
If this belongs in "movies" in community, I apologize. But Queen IMO made art, not just entertainment.
I only got into Freddie Mercury in the last 2 years. As a kid I listened to some of the studio stuff but I had no idea what an absolutely riveting performer he was on stage.
Anyway, I'm debating seeing the movie because I'm curious about the actor. This will be a very different project than the one Sacha Baron Cohen hoped to make. He was attracted to the decadence. I've heard the actor where prosthetic teeth and does capture some of Mercury's physicality and speaking voice. Just wondering if anyone else was curious, planned on seeing it or already had.
I read that it's best watched as an extended music video.
What's your favorite Queen song?
ETA: Live Aid, just because
