I use the "Favorites Bar" in IE quite a bit, adding to and deleting from it almost daily.
When a new favorite is added, it appears at the far left end of the bar, pushing all of the other favorites over to the right (and, if there enough of them, pushing what had been the rightmost favorite off of the screen and onto the list of additional favorites which can be accessed by clicking on the ">>" icon at the right end of the bar).
One undesirable (to me, anyway) result of all of this is that the "Favorite" for any given web page is seldom in the same location on the bar two days in a row (and, over the course of several days, ends up off-screen, on the aforementioned "additional favorites" list.
I know that favorites can be dragged and dropped into different locations on the bar (and between the bar and the "additional favorites" list), but is there a way of "anchoring" a favorite to a location on the bar, effectively exempting it from being pushed to the right as new favorites are added?
Ideally, I would see it working so that all "anchored" favorites ("favorite favorites", if you will) are on the far left of the favorites bar, followed by all "non-anchored" favorites, which would follow the existing "push to the right" paradigm as new favorites are added (newly-added favorites would be added as "non-anchored". Dragging/dropping a favorite between the "anchored" and "non-anchored" areas would automatically toggle its "Anchored?" property.
A similar implementation would be to have a separate bar for "anchored" favorites, but that would take up precious screen space.
Anyone know of any solution to this?
