AP Theory - Anyone ever heard of this?

Anyone ever hear of this "theory"? I saw an ad to "disprove the AP theory" in the back of Smithsonian magazine. Here is a quote from the intro page:

Well, that pretty much does it for me on the intro page - nuts.
