Crater Chains, what are the chances of this?



Evenly spaced impacts in a straight line. How often does that happen?



This pic of Jupiter's moon Ganymede was taken by the Galileo spacecraft in 1997.

















The line of impacts spans approximately 120 miles.





What are the odds of a dozen or so similar objects lining up just so, to make this rather uniform impact pattern?



How does that happen?
