In the December, 2014 issueof Discover there are two articles very likely of interest to many of us sciencey persons.
The first is a history (US) of science kits (Chemistry, Erector, Computer and the pink laden Gilbert Lab Technician Set for Girls). And, second (though first in my mind), the chemistry of the early universe - featuring the first step in the emergence of actual stuff after it - helium hydride (HeH+). Also, re: another thread floating around here, the point where water could form is touched on..........
