It's been a while since a thread in this subforum piqued my interest, so I thought I'd have a go at striking up a conversation.
Whether wholly fictional or thought of as real now or in the past, who or what is your favorite deity? What is it about them that sets them above all of the other omnipotent beings, eldritch abominations, and products of divine incest?
For myself, I've always liked the idea of Lorkhan, from the Elder Scrolls series of videogames. Part trickster, part gaping hole in the fourth wall, Lorkhan convinced the other gods, who at this time were all derping about inside their own celestial spheres, that it would be a good idea to dump most of their power into creating a communal world where they'd all be mortal and have to interact and build things the hard way rather than spawning them with a command.
In other words, Lorkhan's the in-universe god of hardcore gaming.
