Hello Techies! Looking for advice before I buy a new wireless router.
I have: Lynksys Wireless-G broadband router, probably about 8 years old. (Not home right now, so can't provide precise model.)
The problem (a): I have gotten Google Chromecast. When I cast my Chrome browser onto the TV, it works great for a about a half minute, an then I lose the signal. I even have to reboot the router to get connectivity again.
The problem (b): When I VPN into my business, and Remote Desktop to my desk computer, often but not always, I lose the wireless. It comes back a few minutes after disconnecting from VPN.
First, I am assuming that I have a problem with my Linksys device, and not with Time-Warner Cable (my provider). Is that a reasonable assumption?
What are the specifications that I should be looking for in a new wireless router?
