There's an app for that

My phone is now a maze of apps.

I welcomed my web browser overlords when I realised I could do most things I needed to do without having to install an application.

Now my phone has gone the opposite way. To do anything I have to download an app. Now there's all this software on my phone that gets up to god knows what. On my PC it's great. Need something that's complicated, use an application. Random stuff that I don't care about or is light on computer resources? There's a web page on the browser.
