Wasn't sure what forum was appropriate but I figgered I could shoehorn the internal combustion engine under the heading "technology". Mods, feel free to tow it if it belongs elsewhere.
So kid ran the engine low on oil. Really low, like half what it needed. It made a noise that scared him and the oil light came on so he shut it off and called a wrecker. The mechanic found it to be 2.5 to 3 qts low, did a full oil change, and has been unable to recreate the noise. Seems to be running fine and other than the leaky valve gasket that it had before this there's nothing else to be fixed.
So how long before Kid is stranded by this car? Or will he be...is it possible he dodged a bullet and the thing is okay?
