I am thoroughly sick of seeing sporting "heroes" behaving badly.
It seems to be a modern phenomena and I wonder why. I also wonder why more is not done to curb it.
I know fines are imposed but they seem to be of limited effectiveness. Tougher bans on offending players are needed I think but that is only official response. We the public, we the spectators, can do more. If some ratbag is playing then don't go and watch.
In addition to the aggressive, offensive behaviour, we also see our sporting stars self congratulating to an excessive degree. Punching the air when they win a point, doing backflips when they score a goal and so on. This sort of crap didn't happen a few years ago. Players were much more modest when victorious and I for one appreciated this more.
