Actually they called at my door, 2 nice ladies and I am not too proud of having to state my ideas re the bible, but they forced me.

As for the bible being literally true, I pointed out that Joshua was supposed to have made the Sun stand still so he could finish his battles and God made it happen. They made a plea that science has borne out many of the beliefs and they feel vindicated. I also couldn’t help mentioning the Church’s hostility to Galileo and how he was promoting science. Then I had to say only an insane God would punish people for what they were born with. I kept saying I am not hostile to Christianity but I am against promoting a person’s denomination to the Hell Fire of any other. I said I thought it was a nice Fairy Tale for adults something like Santa for Kids. Why isn’t everybody saved? How could a good Christian be happy in Heaven knowing so many are suffering eternally? They agreed that no good Christian could be happy that way. I also said the spirit of denominations caused old ladies to be burned as witches. I was a very bad boy. But I hope that pissed them off enough to leave me alone.
