The power of prayer?

My first cousin has fundamentalist Christian beliefs. He prays before every meal and does daily bible studies. So what has it gotten him? He's been married and divorced three times, he lives with his mentally disabled mother. He has not worked for six years due to a bad leg injury. His youngest daughter and the apple of his eye was killed by a drunken driver. The last event almost killed him. He cries everytime he thinks of her.



To me the death of his daughter was a verification that if a god exists he could care less about what happens to his "children". God is a horrible father if he exists.



I think misdirected faith in anything you can't prove exists is a very bad thing indeed.
