List of Banned Things/Activities

The 30th amendment thing got me thinking - what activities, pastimes or things have been banned in your country?



To start the ball rolling, here are some things that, as far as I understand, were either legal or *not illegal* and have been banned/prohibited in Australia:

• personal use of fireworks (except Northern Territory)


• Cockfighting


• Dwarf Throwing


• Laudanum without prescription


• automatic firearms


• travelling in a car without wearing seatbelts


• riding a motorcycle without wearing a helmet


• riding a bicycle without wearing a helmet


• smoking on public transport


• spraying your weeds with Chlordane (fond memories of my dad doing the spraying, wearing shorts and a singlet, as I at 5 years old watched... )


• BCF fire extinguishers
