When we left our clunky XP desktop behind I got a replacement from the local (Greek) shop. The guy recommended Win 7 and did a good job of putting it all together. Very happy.
Now I've ordered a laptop to get some wifi-ness going round here, but they were a lot cheaper on Amazon (also the local guy's laptops had jumbled kb's with mixed English and Greek characters that were a hassle to read). The laptop is vanilla Win 8
So - I'm looking around for a guide to configuring Win 8 to something more familiar and seeing all sorts of advice - some recommend a 3rd party app, some say upgrade straight to 8.1 and fiddle with it, maybe both.
Any advice on a straightforward route appreciated, a single website would be ideal.
