My mom was in an accident this morning; a logging truck took the front bumper off of her car at an intersection. She called 911, hung up then continued on to work. Her co-workers called an ambulance when they saw her acting strange. The doctor says no stroke and no physical injures, but she has a temporary condition which makes her memory about 30 seconds long. She remembers things in the past but is unable to form new memories at this time.
The doctor says she is expected to recover completely in 2-3 days. For the moment she is confused and upset as she knows she has a problem. My sister wrote down what happened (no injuries, car can be fixed, not her fault) so she can refer to it when she needs some answers. The doctor also said to be calm and supportive. She is at home and with family/friends now and I fly there for x-mas vacation in a few days.
Anyone else deal with this kind of condition before?
