Ok, so this is a book I haven't touched in like, 7 or 8 years. Back then, I was a hardline Catholic, and believed in jebus and Revelation. Thank to JREFF, I think that life was a total waste.
So I was thinking of moving soon, and was going through some old things. Found this book, dusted it off, and took a quick peek inside. I read part of the Introduction, before it gave me a headache, and had to put it down.
In the intro, Hagee goes on and talks a bit about how "Muslims are at war with Christians and Jews!," and allies himself (and Christianity) with the Jewish state of Israel. Ok, pretty typical BS.
I go on to read a billeted point list of the "differences between Muslims and Christians." (Interesting, that he leaves out the "differences between Jews and Christians.")
I don't feel like typing it all here, but suffice it to say that it was all BS. (Such as how Muslims believe in a Messiah call the Mahdi, but Christians say the Messiah is Jesus. Well, Mr. Hagee, newsflash: You're little allies, the Jews, also think that Jesus was just a prophet as well!)
And another neat little gem:
Muslims believe in a great war at the end of the age called the "Mother of all Battles," But Christians call it the "Battle of Armageddon", and Jews call it the "Battle of All Battles."
Ummm....color-colour? (couldn't change the spelling of tomato! :D ) So, like, one of his main bulleted points is that the Muslims call it the "Mother of all Battles," but Christians call it something different (which actually means exactly the same thing!) and Jews call it something slightly different as well. Except that Jews are our friends, and Muslims are not. So....It matters! Because Muslims are teh EBUL and Christians and Jews are not! What is this guy, 6 years old!?
Then he quotes President Bush: "The nation is at war with Islamic fascists." (which actually was correct. The nation WAS at war with "Islamic Fascists." It was NEVER at war with "Islam" in general.)
It gets even better than that:
"Rush Limbaugh, America's foremost conservative radio icon, has said 'This is a religious war....There is no room for compromise in a religious war.....no room for 'settlement.'"
Rush Limbaugh? "America's foremost conservative radio icon!?"
I dunno, I just wanted to create a new thread in here so my head wouldn't explode after reading all of three pages in an intro, and to give thanks to JREFF for saving my non-soul! :D
