No my friends, "white privilege" does not exist?
Why? I'll tell you why.
Privilege, means something extra. Something special. Something out of the ordinary. Something one would not ordinarily expect.
What sorts of things are refered to as being examples of "white privilege"?
treated respectfully by law enforcement.
treated respectfully by employers, neighbors, the govt.
Feeling like you can achieve in life, try to make it, try to reach high.
Knowing that if you work hard, you can attain what you desire.
These are things refered to as "white privilege".
My friends, this is not privilege!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the way its supposed to be for everyone!!!! Its the way its supposed to be for all Americans!!!
Such a state of affairs is not privilege, its simply being treated like a human being!!!!!
What is happening, however, is that blacks and other minorities are often treated like second-class citizens. They are not afforded the guaruntees and rights that they deserve, as American citizens. They are treated, like foreigners.
That's the way we should be framing these discussions.
Not about the so-called "privileges" of all white Americans, but how non-whites are treated like second-class citizens.
