Sexism? Misogyny? What say you?

I was having a conversation where someone insisted that it was a man's job to "bring home the bacon" and let the woman coast. I replied that I wasn't sexist enough to agree, as I think that women are people too and I received this reply:



"It's not a sexist thing, it's the man's responsibility. My mom and my aunties didn't have to work, my dad and my uncle's were the providers. "



I call this sexist and misogynistic, but my friend doesn't agree and even goes so far that for me to call it misogyny is misogynistic...I'm pretty sure I know what the SJW's would say, but what say you, lights of reason, rationality and critical thinking?
