British town planning to "move offshore"

The Welsh town of Crickhowell, whose small businesses are fed up with paying their corporation tax while the internationals shunt their money around in esoteric tax-avoidance schemes, is planning to move offshore.

Well, not really, but they're certainly fed up and are looking into it, while becoming part of a TV documentary.

Advised by experts and followed by a BBC crew, family-run shops in the Brecon Beacons town have submitted their own DIY tax plan to HMRC, copying the offshore arrangements used by global brands which pay little or no corporation tax.

And in other news, it seems the UK's esteemed Chancellor, George Osborne, has a 15% stake in the family business that has paid no corporation tax in the last 7 years, despite doing well enough to up the CEO's pay from £580k to £684k last year. The CEO is believed to be George's dad ;)
