More an idle speculation that maybe resident physics can anwser.
I know that under any standard chemical conditions metals always form postive ions, but I wonder if anyone knows of a succesful experiment to create negative metal ions.
Maybe something weird that spun out of the LHC or bombarding metal foil with massive amounts of beta radiation?
Just wondering if it's physically possible at all.
