How the heck do I wipe out Homo sapiens? How extinction proof are we now?

Discussion in this thread is drifting into how "extinction proof" humanity is with the current population, technology etc, and I thought a fresh thread with that specific topic might be warranted.

I agree with dinwar that as we stand we are essentially extinction proof, but I would be interested to hear responses to this: Given unlimited resources, and a healthy dose of misanthropy, what would it take to wipe us out as a species?



Nuke it from orbit? (I don't think even deliberate and careful use of nuclear warfare with that in mind would wipe us out.)



Huge impact? Have to be a bloody big one, bigger than anything that has come before.



Disease? There are seven billion of us. I'm almost certain that there is no disease we couldn't control or survive as a species. Maybe airborne transmissible gonad cancer? *writes notes for scifi series*



Nearby stellar explosion? Black hole accident at CERN?
