It started when Gizmodo interviewed former facebook contractors who felt they didn't get the gold plated swimming pools that a facebook job surely entails. Instead they worked out of a dumpy building where they used arcane criteria to figure out what would end up on the facebook "trending" list.
Then one former employee came out and alleged that while anything related to Katy Perry in a bikini would be "trend worthy" a story by some bloke about a transgendered lesbian Syrian refugee using a burning flag to beat Miss Texas to death in a Target unisex bathroom probably is not. At least until some news outlet reports on the matter that doesn't rely on hyperventilating hate radio call in tips.
Naturally you can see how this would upset conservatives who base at least 80% of their ideology on implausible stories told by someone out of breath from fury/stroke. So, to get to the bottom of this great injustice the Senate is going full Benghazi on this.
